Pop songstress Ellie Goulding's latest radio single "Burn" moves up to No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, for the week ending December 7, 2013.
It has charted for 12 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
Goulding co-wrote this fine tune with Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic, as well as Greg Kurstin, Noel Zancanella and Brent Kutzle.
Its music video has accumulated over 106 million views on her official YouTube channel, and it has been mostly well-received by her fans and music critics, and rightfully so. Goulding's voice is such a rare phenomenon. Her vocals are raw, heartfelt, sultry, soothing and hypnotic and they instantly grab the listener's attention. "Burn" has such an infectious melody and beat that is makes it impossible to forget upon hearing it.
The video shows Goulding performing in a field, sporting a black skirt, at times she is seen wearing a black hood, and dancing around. Later on, she is joined by fans who are showcasing their energy, as if it were an electronic dance music concert. Its video is quite visually striking.
The Verdict
Overall, Ellie Goulding proves that she is one of pop music's most underrated artists, and she puts on a fantastic live show. She has consistently released captivating songs since "Lights," but she never get the credit that she truly deserves. Hopefully, "Burn" will be the single that will help propel her career to a higher level. It garners an "A" rating.
