Robert Durbin, 64, used to weigh around 215lbs a few years ago. He used to smoke 60 cigarettes per day, and he used to walk with a cane.
According to Daily Mail, Durbin eventually decided that he had enough, and he had grandchildren on the way, and that is when he decided to take up fitness.
Since starting his grueling fitness regime he has lost more than 70 pounds, and has trimmed 18 inches off his waist, and he can even hold onto a pole horizontally.
According to Yahoo, It was about two years ago when Durbin discovered an international workout team, BarStarrzz, that uses creative calisthenics to get lean muscular physiques. Durbin started to workout to their YouTube videos on his own and posted photos and videos of his progress. to his Instagram account, under the handle rockhardpapaw.
Durbin eventually landed an interview with barStarzz, and the video showed him flexing his muscles while doing one-armed push-ups, pull-ups, chin-ups and flagpole holds. His video was posted in October and has been viewed more than 700K times.
According to ABC, Durbin says that it is hard work but he feels better now than he did more than 40 years ago.
Durbin says that every morning, as soon as he wakes up he does about an hour on the elliptical ski glider, and then he does 1,200-1,800 reps of sit-ups, and then he heads to the gym, where he does CrossFit, weight training and skills training for about three hours.
