article imageSNL again targets Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, this time it's funny

By Marcus Hondro     Nov 24, 2013 in Entertainment
For the second consecutive week, Saturday Night Live took a shot at embattled drug-smoking and prevaricating Toronto Mayor Rob Ford. But while their Ford sketch last week didn't quite hit the mark, the darts they threw at him this week did.
This Saturday, the Weekend Update anchor Cecily Strong 'reported' that Ford told a press conference he would have fessed up to smoking crack sooner "If anybody had asked him the question, ‘Have you smoked crack?’ rather than the question, ‘Do you smoke crack?’"
Strong then intoned that Ford added he would have fessed up even sooner if anyone had simply asked him "‘Would you like some crack?’”
The anchor also reported on last week's incident in which Ford bowled over Toronto city councilor Pam McConnell as he was rushing by her to get to the gallery and confront a man who had been heckling him.
“During a Toronto city council meeting in which members stripped Rob Ford of most of his powers," she reported. "The controversial mayor charged the gallery and ran over a female council member...before he was finally brought down by the third dart.”
Last week's sketch featuring Bobby Moynihan along with three Weekend Update jokes arguably did not hit the mark as well as this week's offerings.
