article imageReview: Country star Sammy Kershaw releases 'Big Hits Volume One' CD Special

By Markos Papadatos     Nov 22, 2013 in Entertainment
Country music star Sammy Kershaw released his "Big Hits Volume One" album via Big Hits Records. He served as producer of the project.
It opens with his 1992 hit "Don't Go Near The Water" and it is followed by my all-time favorite Sammy Kershaw tune "She Don't Know She's Beautiful," which is pure country at its finest.
"Yard Sale" is a great traditional country ballad. Upon hearing the title of t he follow-up song "Vidalia" one may think that it is about onions, but it deals with a girl named Vidalia.
His re-recordings of "Cadillac Style" and "Third Rate Romance" are delightful, and "Queen of My Doublewide Trailer" is a true country classic.
In various instances on this CD, his vocals are reminiscent of those of the late country king George Jones.
It closes with the witty new track "Can't Put My Finger On It."
The Verdict
Overall, this CD is a must for any fan of early 90s country, especially since Sammy Kershaw is one of its greatest talents. His songs have a lot of meaning and he sings from the heart. This CD garners an A rating. Well done Sammy.
