article imageInterview with Dannic: World renowned DJ and producer Special

By Markos Papadatos     Nov 19, 2013 in Entertainment
Dannic made his debut at No. 74 this year on the Top 100 poll by DJ Magazine, a prestigious publication which ranks the best DJs in the world.
He is originally from Breda in the Netherlands, which ironically enough is the hometowns for such esteemed DJs as Tiesto and Hardwell.
On the electronic dance music scene, Dannic remarked, "It’s a melting pot of creative ideas and everyone has their own opinions as to what makes up the EDM scene. There are so many energetic and passionate people involved in the scene and the fans are so dedicated which is what at the moment is making it so strong."
On achieving this recognition, Dannic shared that it was an "incredible" feeling. "It's a real honor to be selected by the fans and for them to vote for me is something which I was so overwhelmed by. Being included in a list of such prestigious names, many who I have respected for years, was an amazing feeling," he said.
Dannic is looking forward to keeping himself dedicated to music. "I have so many more tracks I want to make and so many artists I'd like to collaborate with. I feel that there is no limit to what I can achieve," he said.
He continued, "I am a very driven individual and I think the people I surround myself with are similar. Take Hardwell for example, he is one of the hardest-working people in dance music. That in itself is motivating, he is the current world No. 1 DJ and to achieve this level of success you must be more than just dedicated. I find his attitude and approach to making music and touring quite inspiring."
On December 28, Dannic will be performing at Pier 94 in New York and he foreshadowed that it is going to be an "amazing show." "It will be just after Christmas so expect a lot of surprises," he exclaimed.
Dannic listed the "Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin as his dream female duet choice. "She has an incredible voice which has always blown me away. It would have been amazing to have the opportunity to create something with her," Dannic said.
He added, "As for current singers, I guess it would be quite funny to go into the studio with Miley Cyrus. It would be interesting to see what all the fuss is about."
Due to his hectic travel schedule, he noted that he stayed connected with his fans mainly via social media. "It’s the best way to stay connected whilst on the road and it is something which I rely upon heavily, not just to promote what I am working on but because it is important to interact and stay in touch with your fans on a personal level," he said.
Dannic concluded by thanking his fans for their support. "Thanks for all the support. I really couldn’t have gotten this far without you guys and it means so much to have been voted by you into the Top 100. I hope to see you at my shows over the coming months," he said.
