By Markos Papadatos     Nov 16, 2013 in Entertainment
A capella vocal group Pentatonix did a wonderful medley of Daft Punk songs which included noteworthy covers of "One More Time," "Celebrate," "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" and "Celebrate."
The group is made up of lead vocalists Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying and Kirstin Maldonado, as well as Avi Kaplan on vocal bass and beatboxer Kevin Olusola. Their new album recently debuted in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 all-genre charts, as well as No. 1 on Billboard's Independent album chart. It garnered rave reviews from Digital Journal.
Their music video for the "Daft Punk" medley, which was posted on November 4, is visually striking and it showcases four out of the five band members wearing baby blue contact lenses, while Kevin Olusola is seen sporting sunglasses. It has generated over 14.7 million views on their official YouTube channel. It allows all vocalists to showcase their solo talents. It is a true musical work of art.
Electro-pop dance duo Daft Punk themselves would be in awe of Pentatonix's natural talent, if they were to see this music video.
Pentatonix will be going on a European tour which is sold-out in its entirety and they will be touring North America in 2014, which kicks off on February 4.
