A new Doctor Who 50th-anniversary exclusive has been unveiled last night, as part of the BBC's annual telethon, Children in Need.
The two-minute clip, from the Doctor Who 50th-anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor, shows the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) and his companion, Clara (Jenna Coleman) as they investigate a gallery where figures appear to have broken through glass and escaped from their paintings.
It also features Kate Lethbridge-Stewart (Jemma Redgrave), Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) and the war Doctor (John Hurt).
Doctor Who has a long association with Children in Need, going back to the sci-fi show's 20th anniversary in 1983.
In previous years, the Children in Need charity annual telethon has included various Doctor Who material, including, as this year, exclusive previews of upcoming Doctor Who episodes – as was done in 2010 for Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol – and specially filmed minisodes.
The BBC announced late last month that Doctor Who would form part of the event once again.
The whole evening of activities, was broadcast live on BBC One, presented by Sir Terry Wogan, Fearne Cotton, Zoe Ball, Nick Grimshaw and Tess Daly.
