Moscow - Russia's human rights ombudsman, Vladimir Lukin, says Pussy Riot member Nadezhda (Nadya) Tolokonnikova is in a medical unit in a Siberian prison. Her husband, Pyotr Verzilov, talks to Consider This about searching for his wife.
Digital Journal has published previous articles about the whereabouts of Pussy Riot member Nadya Tolokonnikova and continues to follow the story.
After weeks of wondering what had happened to Nadya Tolokonnikova after her transfer from prison, according to Associated Press, Russia's rights ombudsman, Vladimir Lukin, issued a statement and informed Russian news agencies on Tuesday that Tolokonnikova is in a medical unit at a prison in the Krasnoyarsk region of Siberia. The name of the prison has not been announced. Relatives and lawyers will be updated soon.
Antonio Mora host of Al Jazeera's current affairs program Consider This interviewed Pyotr Verzilov, husband of Pussy Riot member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, who until recently was considered missing.
Verzilov discussed his quest to find Nadya with Mora and says he will make an attempt to visit her at the prison camp. Here is a report of the interview.
Tolokonnikova is serving the last few months of a two-year prison term she received for performing a protest “punk prayer” in Moscow’s Christ the Saviour Cathedral.
