According to
Huffington Post, Jose Serrano, 10, of Juarez, Mexico, has a very large tumor on his neck, and it stretches across his chest, threatening his life and it inhibits his movement.
According to
Fox, Serrano was prescribed Viagra, as it has proven to shrink growths in kids. Doctors are now hoping that the tumor will shrink enough so they can operate on it, and allow Serrano to live a normal life.
According to
Daily Mail, Serrano was born with the growth, and his parents found out just last year what was causing the growth. The family said that the growth started off as very small when he was born, but over time it grew to become very large.
Until now treatment was an issue due to money. Treatment and surgery adds up to be around $200,000, but with the help of the hospital and fundraisers and donations from around the world, Serrano will not be able to receive treatment and surgery.
The drug makers Pfizer said that they will cover the cost of Viagra.
