The 2014 nominees for induction were announced by Songwriters Hall of Fame chairman, Mr. Jimmy Webb.
This organization is dedicated to recognizing the work and lives of the composers and lyricists who create popular music around the world.
The ladies of Heart are nominated in the "Performer/Songwriters category" along with an array of artists that includes Madonna, Vince Gill, John Mellencamp, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Cyndi Lauper, Sade, among others.
Ann and Nancy Wilson have co-written noteworthy songs that have become standards in rock and roll history, such as "Crazy On You," "Dreamboat Annie," "Barracuda," "Magic Man," "Dog and Butterfly," "Even It Up" and the spiritual "Sand," among countless others.
This year, Ann and Nancy Wilson were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with several of the original band members from Heart which included Michael DeRosier, Roger Fisher, Steve Fossen and Howard Leese.
The 2014 annual awards Gala for the Songwriters Hall of Fame is going to take place at the Marriott Marquis on June 12 in New York City.
