article imageHTC One 2, codenamed M8, images leaked; hints at new specs

HTC's next big project is already underway and images of it are surfacing. The HTC M8, the One's successor, may already be underway as leaked images reveal an HTC One-like chassis.
After a successful launch of the HTC One, later rated best phone of 2013 by TechRadar and PCWorld, not so successful launch of the One Max, HTC is back on track to making the next smartphone.
It's codename is the "M8," but many have already speculated that it will really just be a second generation HTC One, supposedly named the HTC One 2.
User hichong over on ePrice described the M8 as having the HTC One-like design. It looks like HTC will continue with the uni-body aluminum housing. However, rather than a two-piece shell, the design of the back shells shows HTC making a complete one-piece shell to encapsulate the hardware components. Judging by the size, it looks like the phone will be equipped with a 5- to 5.2-inch screen. Finally, the back shell shows an additional hole not seen on the HTC One. Right now, it is unclear as to if HTC is going to embed a fingerprint scanner or add another camera lens sensor. Adding another camera lens sensor seems redundant as there's no point in having two rear cameras.
PhonesReview UK actually rendered a complete image of the speculated M8:
They also rendered an image of a matching charger for this new phone, which can be found over on their earlier November 1, 2013 post. One thing the rendered image failed to take notice of is the additional hole on the back shell as well as the light-blue shell color as shown in the leaked images.
Finally , ePrice also posted potential specifications to feature a 3GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, and HTC Sense 6.0. Android version and internal storage capacity are still unknown.
