article imageInterview with Charles Dera from 'Men of The Strip' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Nov 9, 2013 in Entertainment
Lead performer and emcee Charles Dera from the male revue "Men of the Strip" took some time from his day in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to talk about their tour.
"I am so excited to be the emcee," he said. "It's something that I have done in the past and it's my favorite job to do in the show. There is no other job in the show that I would rather do."
He added, "It's incredible to be a part of this show. I find that this is my place to be in the universe."
Dera has the pleasure to work with Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees, who is hosting the event, as well as renowned choreographer Glenn Packard, its creative director. "Jeff is absolutely incredible. He is a total character and he has a great personality. I trust him and he's a down-to-earth person and he's just another guy like us. Although he is a superstar, he does not command that type of attention, which I really respect."
Thus far, he has been to three shows and has found them all to be "incredible." "The show actually rocks," he exclaimed.
On this tour, he is excited to "hang out" with the guys. "Nothing beats hanging out with a bunch of cool dudes and being like a grown child. I love it," he said. "Working out all day and eating good food."
In the past, he revealed that he was a former U.S. Marine and he all does jiu-jitsu, the latter of which he is extremely passionate about. "I have been training off and on for ten years," he said.
On December 17, they will be playing at New York's Gramercy Theatre. "We are super stoked to come to New York. I have a bunch of friends that will be coming from all over the place. It's going to be a unique opportunity for them to see the Big Apple itself," he said.
