article imageMicrosoft accidentally uses PS4 footage for Xbox YouTube channel

By Daryl Hammond     Nov 8, 2013 in Entertainment
In what is likely to be a fierce battle for supremacy between Microsoft and Sony in the latest iteration of the console wars, Xbox has shot itself in the foot with their latest YouTube blunder.
The footage was supposed to be an Xbox One walkthrough of the highly-anticipated game Watch Dogs on their official YouTube channel.

However the bottom right of the screen shows some on-screen controls for the game, using traditional Playstation controls (X, O, □, Δ), as opposed to Xbox’s (A, B, X, Y). This means the walkthrough was played on a Playstation 4 console as opposed to Microsoft’s latest console.
After a failed attempt to hide the button error, Xbox ultimately took down the video to avoid further embarrassment.
The blame probably lies with game publishers Ubisoft, who more than likely provided the footage of Watch dogs.
The game will be available on both the Xbox One and the Playstation 4, as well as their predecessors, but its release has been delayed until 2014.
