Daytona Beach - Florida police released a video showing cops shooting Jermaine Green 32, and a former New York Giants running back, as he was holding a knife to the chest of his girlfriend.
According to NY Daily, the footage was released on Thursday, and the incident occurred on September 25, at the Daytona Beach home.
The video shows two cops shooting Green a total of six times, and both Green and his girlfriend, Katrina Johnson, 37, suffered non-fatal gunshot wounds. Green was struck in his hip, his right arm and his abdomen. Johnson was struck with a seventh bullet, which hit her in the right arm, according to Daily Mail.
According to Fox, Mike Chitwood, the Daytona Beach police chief, said that he thinks his officers handled everything properly, and that he is proud of what they did. He continued to say that everyone got to go home to their families.
Green played two seasons at Washington State after spending two at a Kansas junior college. Green eventually signed as an undrafted free agent with the New York Giants back in 2004, but he was released before the season started.
