A couple of promotional trailers have been released by Sony for the Playstation 4 next-generation console. The Playstation 4 hits North America on November 15.
Come November 15, the Sony Playstation 4 next-generation console will hit North America. In preparation, Sony has launched a couple of promotional trailers before the November 15 launch date for the console. The first video talks about the Playstation 4's DUALSHOCK 4 controller, the second video talks about the “Epic Journeys,” the third talks about the “New Age for Games,” and the last talks about both the Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita.
With the DUALSHOCK 4 controller, the trailer says these three words “Revolutionary, Intuitive, and Precise.” In this trailer, Sony talks about the following that the DUALSHOCK 4 controller has: new ergonomic advantage (probably when it comes to using the controls), natural trigger design (improving quality when playing shooter games), precision tracking analog sticks, and so forth. The controller has a motion tracker, a touch pad, and a microphone. The share button becomes an important feature which you can share videos in real time on Facebook and Twitter. In short, the DUALSHOCK 4 will become one of the most important peripherals for the Playstation 4.
The second trailer has the developers talking about how they enjoy developing for the Playstation 4 consoles. They say that they are no longer limited. In short, this trailer talks about how the Playstation 4 console is very friendly to the developers. With that said, the developers implied that the quality of the games for the Playstation 4 will be extremely high.
The third trailer gives a glimpse of the games that will be available for the Playstation 4 such as: “InFAMOUS: Second Son,” “Madden 25,” “FIFA 14,” “Battlefield 4,” “Killzone: Shadow Fall,” “Watch Dogs” with 60 minutes of exclusive game play, “Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag” with 60 minutes of exclusive game play, “NBA 2K14” with exclusive in-game content, “The Elder Scrolls Online,” “Destiny” with exclusive in-game content, and many more titles.
The last trailer shows the synchronicity between the Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita. You can stream Playstation 4 footage on the Playstation Vita. In preparation, Sony has release the 3.00 update for the Playstation Vita that allows for such linking to happen. In Japan, as Digital Journal reports, Sony has released a special trailer for the Japan-exclusive Playstation Vita TV which has similar features to the 3.00 software update.
Spike TV, in preparation, is going to host “Playstation 4 All Access: Greatness Awaits” on November 14. A brief teaser video has been released.
Next week is go-time for the Playstation 4 console. VentureBeat reports that it may be wise to wait a little bit longer before buying either the Playstation 4 or Xbox One next-generation consoles. This is due to the possibility that the earlier models (the launch models) could possibly be defective. Since these consoles are first models, they could have their share of software glitches.
It points out one example being the earlier days of the Xbox 360 consoles when they first launched. The article talks about how the disc reader had a flaw that scratched discs so bad that they could no longer be played. That wasn't the only bad thing, there was also the notorious “Red Ring of Death” which forced owners to ship their consoles to Microsoft to have them repaired. Still, the official cause of the red ring has yet to be revealed. The article also talked about the first models of the Playstation 3 in regards to difficult hardware and software which made backwards compatibility near impossible. In short, the article talks about possible hardware and OS software failures.
This console hits North America on November 15.
