Sony has released a long video-clip or online commercial
in regards to the currently Japan-exclusive Playstation Vita TV. Keep in mind, this commercial is completely in Japanese. So far, it's unknown if or when Playstation Vita TV will be made available overseas let alone to North America.
From what the video shows, Playstation Vita TV is a peripheral
with is connected to the Playstation 4 console through HDMI. According to CVG.com, the PS Vita TV peripheral will be compatible with about 1,300 PS Vita, Playatation Portable (PSP), Playstation 1 (PS1), and Playstation 2 (PS2) titles. But, the main attraction is working with the Playstation 4 next-generation console which hits markets later this month.
Notably, this allows you to play the PS Vita on the TV. Also, PS Vita TV brings forth Playstation 4 streaming as well. From a remote screen, you can be able to access your Playstation 4 console. CVG.com reports that Sony has given the hint that PS Vita TV could be made available to the West. In that case, there is the possibility that this could be released to North America.
In further news, there is the 3.0 update
to the PSV which presents the following
: connectivity to the Playstation 4 console (providing remote play and second screen), improved friends list, improved party app, connectivity with Playstation 3 via USB and/or Wi-Fi, optional auto-updates, panoramic photos, enhanced parental controls, etc.
Also, remember the Pocketstation? If you do, then you should know that the Pocketstation App
has been announced for the PSV. While it is free, it's exclusive to PS Plus members until December 3. Keep in mind that this is only available in Japan.
