By Owen Weldon     Nov 5, 2013 in Crime
Air Canada is investigating how five people boarded an Air Canada flight with fake tickets on Friday. The flight was bound for Toronto.
According to The Star, the airline confirmed that four Iranians and an Afghan were ejected from the flight in Caracas, Venezuela, which resulted in an five-hour delay.
According to GlobalNews, Peter Fitzpatrick, an Air Canada spokesman, said in an email on Monday that a discrepancy, in a number of passengers on board, was detected during the secondary load verification process.
According to CTV, four of the five people will be charged with charges relating to the illegal trafficking of foreigners.
Air Canada said that a third-party company is employed in order to provide airport services in Caracas.
The Canada Border Services Agency confirmed that it knows about the incident and that they were working with their partners to ensure the safety and security of Canada's borders.
