Borensberg - Doing what beavers do best, a Swedish beaver felled a tree near Borensberg in Östergötland on Friday, completely blocking traffic on a busy road and causing long queues of vehicles.
Motorists were stuck in the traffic at lunchtime on Friday, after a fallen tree blocked a road.
Police in the area are blaming a beaver for the traffic jam near Borensberg in Östergötland after a downed tree blocked the road and caused long queues of motorists.
Fredrik Kliman of the Östergötland told the TT news agency (in Swedish), "No one saw the tree fall, but we got a message about the delay and sent a patrol to check on the situation."
"One of the policemen said that it was crystal clear that it was a beaver that chewed down the tree," he added.
At the time police warned motorists that the situation would remain "cumbersome" for some time, and had to contact the local traffic center to request workers to clean up the mess.
When asked if police would be hunting the offending beaver, he said, "We're not going to be hunting the beaver today, we have other things to do."
As for the beaver himself, he probably got scared away by all that darn traffic and couldn't complete his work.
