CNN writes a gunman concealing an assault rifle walked up to a Los Angeles International Airport checkpoint and opened fire on a TSA agent Friday morning, but when the gunman passed the security point, he was shot and wounded by a police officer.
The number of victims is unknown at this time.

The shooter's name is 23-year-old Paul Anthony Ciancia, NBC News
writes. Authorities believe "he had anti-government views based on the material he was carrying...Federal officials told NBC News it was unclear whether the gunman was targeting the TSA or was trying to shoot his way through to get further into the airport." He was a ticketed passenger.
