A trailer has been released for the upcoming theatrical release of the independent drama called Go For Sisters which stars LisaGay Hamilton, Yolonda Ross, Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica), and Isaiah Washington (Grey's Anatomy). It is a tale of friends reuniting and someone finding redemption under not the best of circumstances. This film, written and directed by John Sayles, will have a limited screening on November 8. On the movie's website, there's a list of show dates available along with locations of where to see the movie. Sayles and Olmos will be doing a Q & A session at both the NYC and LA premieres. This is also one of the films showcased at this year's South By Southwest (S X SW) film festival.
Hamilton and Ross respectively star as Bernice and Fontayne, who were good friends during childhood but separate when they embark on different paths. They are reunited decades later when they are much older. The situation has changed as Fontayne finished serving a term in jail on drug charges while Bernice is charged with the task of being her new parole officer.
Both of them get close again when Bernice's son goes missing due to him engaging in illegal activities. He vanishes to Tijuana. Desperate to find her son before he gets arrested and/or killed, Bernice asks Fontayne to utilize her connections. When that's not enough, Bernice enlists the help of a disgraced ex-LAPD detective named Freddy (portrayed by Suarez). The three of them venture into the dangerous Tijuana to find the necessary answers.
