Nugent is affectionately known as "Uncle Ted" by his fans.
Although all of the songs on here are prime cuts, six of them are true highlights. I really love his live renditions of "Wango Tango," "Just What The Doctor Ordered," the poignant "Fred Bear," "Cat Scratch Fever," "Stranglehold" and its closing track, "Great White Buffalo."
Nugent and his band really pour their hearts and souls in their music and it is evident in these two CDs. Having had the great fortune to see him twice over the last two years at the same venue, his music truly does cleanse the soul, thus leaving his dedicated fans yearning for more.
The DVD is an asset to this collection, since it gives his fans a front-row seat to his concert via their television or computer screens.
The Verdict
With Ultralive Ballisticrock, Ted Nugent proves that he is like fine wine. He only gets better with age. Politics aside, he puts on one incredible high-energy show that should not be missed by any fan of rock, blues and Motown. Not many artists his age can pull that off, yet Nugent shines in concert. His band members are all electrifying live and those who have not had the pleasure to see them in concert are able to do so thanks to the DVD. This 2-CD and DVD collection garners an A rating. Good going "Uncle Ted."
