article imageInterview with Christian singer Dara Maclean: 'Wanted' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Oct 23, 2013 in Entertainment
Christian singer-songwriter Dara Maclean is signed to Fervent Records. She released her second studio album "Wanted" on September 24.
The CD reached No. 22 on the Billboard Christian Album charts, and it has been well-received by music critics. "That was very humbling. Any victory, small or big, is a big victory so that was super exciting," she said.
Maclean remarked, "I believe in writing regardless of what you have coming up since you always have something come up. I spent two years writing. I was in Nashville all the time writing and praying about what it needed to look like and sound like. That was really the process. It involved a lot of personal healing, learning and growing. It was my 'Monday morning record.' The song selection started with me and the grace of God was an abundance for me. I met my husband through this process."
She shared that "Good Enough" was the first song that she wrote for this sophomore studio album, which she selected as her favorite song on the album, as well as the ballad "Blameless."
Maclean had the good fortune to be in New York last year for radio promotion and she hopes to visit the city again. "I would love that. The cycle will come back around," she said. "That would be awesome."
She complimented male Christian singer-songwriter Matthew West for his talent. "I love him," she said, and subsequently noted that she would love to someday collaborate with West on a duet.
