Country singer-songwriter Thomas Rhett has scored his first No. 1 single as an artist with his gold-certified "It Goes Like This."
After charting for 25 weeks, the single reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Airplay charts for the week ending October 26.
Rhett is signed to the Valory Music Company, along with such fellow country stars as Justin Moore, Brantley Gilbert, Reba McEntire and The Mavericks. He will release his debut studio album, which is also titled It Goes Like This, on October 29.
Within four months, the song's music video has garnered over 4.8 million views on his official YouTube channel. It was co-written by his father, veteran Nashville songwriter Rhett Akins, as well as Ben Hayslip and Jimmy Robbins.
Thus far, out of all of the singles that Rhett has released in his career, "It Goes Like This" is the most captivating. It has a catchy melody and warm lyrics. His vocals on this tune are reminiscent to those of such country artists as Brad Paisley and Randy Houser. It is certainly a breath of fresh air. His female fans and listeners will surely appreciate this song, since it's a tune that they would love to have dedicated or sung to them. His No. 1 peak position on the charts was based on merit.
