Country duo North 40 is comprised of Paige Logan and Heather Looney. The talented ladies opened up about their debut single "Hey Girl Hey."
The song was co-written by Paige Logan and Amber Rose. It was subsequently produced by Leigh Reynolds and Grammy winner Mills Logan. "The song was actually was just written as a celebration for girl friendships. It is a girl's anthem and it's about getting together with your friends and loved ones and reconnecting so that we can recharge and go back," Paige said.
Paige subsequently noted that their upcoming album is in its mastering stage and it is bound to be "awesome." "It's a wonderful collection of songs that we believe exhibits what North 40 is. We have written these songs from our life experiences. We do not have a release date yet," Heather said. "We are aiming for a January 2014 release."
The ladies revealed that their new album is going to be titled "Whole Lot of Livin'." "We have a lot of things going on and we feel that at this time in our lives, the title cut song speaks to what we are all about," Paige said.
In addition to Heather and Paige, the songs on the new CD were co-written by some of Nashville's top songwriters and it will consist of an eclectic mix of songs.
"Hey Girl Hey" was released on their independent record label, Rhymetown Entertainment. "We are true believers that life begins at North 40 and it is never too late to be what you might have been or do what you have always wanted to do. Listen to the voice in your heart and follow the path. Honestly, you look at things differently at this side of 40 and you realize how precious life is and it is important to find joy in every single day that we are allowed to be here on this earth," Heather said. "We really want to inspire that in other people."
Regarding their future plans, they shared, "We are going to tour a little bit more in Texas and we will go up the East Coast a little bit. When the record is released, we are going on a TV tour, where will hit local television stations to get our music out that way."
North 40 credits their musical influences to an array of artists ranging from Beethoven to Merle Haggard to Creedence Clearwater Revival. "We are classically trained pianists and we are lovers of music. We have had a lot of music in our household, where everybody was very musical growing up," Paige said.
They concluding by stating that they enjoy hearing from their fans about their music, especially when they find a "connect-ability" to their music and in return, they love hearing their fans' stories.
