article imageReview: Scotty McCreery is back with new 'See You Tonight' CD Special

By Markos Papadatos     Oct 17, 2013 in Entertainment
American Idol Season 10 winner and country singer Scotty McCreery released his latest studio album "See You Tonight" on October 15.
Frank Rogers served as the record's producer. It features 13 tracks, for which he co-wrote five of the songs.
The CD opens with "Now" and it is followed by the stunning title cut "See You Tonight."
He changes the pace with the slow-moving "Get Gone With You" and "Feelin' It," which was co-penned by Christian music sensation Matthew West, is more upbeat.
"Buzzin'" has a Jason Aldean and Jake Owen vibe to it.
"The Dash" is an eloquent ballad, where the listener can easily recall Josh Turner, who happens to be one of McCreery's greatest musical influences. Equally remarkable is yet another ballad "Forget to Forget You."
"I Don't Want To Be Your Friend" would make a good choice for a radio single.
The highlight track on the CD is "Carolina Moon," which features Alison Krauss' mellifluous vocals on harmonies.
The Verdict
Overall, Scotty McCreery is back with his finest studio effort to date with "See You Tonight." It is highly eclectic, refreshing and he showcases his rich, baritone vocals. The 20-year old musician has grown substantially as a singer and songwriter since his American Idol days. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
