Red Bull has released new footage of Felix Baumgartner's jump from space last Oct. 14, 2012. The video was released on YouTube to mark the one-year anniversary of the historic record-breaking skydive.
Red Bull's YouTube video follows the 44-year-old Austrian BASE jumper, Baumgartner, from three different angles as he jumps from the edge of space. The dials on the edge of the video document his altitude and speed during the jump.
The YouTube video runs just over nine minutes and begins with Baumgartner's jump from his capsule. Pay attention to the point where he reaches his top speed of 1,358 km per hour, breaking the sound barrier.
The original live feed of Baumgartner's jump recorded a record-breaking viewership of 8 million people, reports RT News, who also quotes Baumgartner after the jump saying his jump might be valuable "for those who are exploring how people might be able to bail out of aircraft at ultra-high altitudes."
