article imageInterview with Phoenix Stone: 'When the Whiskey Doesn't Work' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Oct 14, 2013 in Entertainment
Country singer and musician Phoenix Stone from the Phoenix Stone Band chatted about his latest single "When The Whiskey Doesn't Work," which he wrote, produced and played most of the instruments.
The single was released via his independent record label, Bodaway Records.
"It's a real song about pain and trying to heal," he acknowledged. "It signifies whatever your crutch is that gets you through in relationships or anything you are going through in life, and sometimes those crutches quit working, and you have to really face that issue heads on. It's about a relationship that is ending and when you end it as friends, that is what hurts the most. You need to face your demons heads on."
"In a sea of songs on country radio right now that are all about boozing' and cruising' and everybody having a good time sitting on a tailgate, I wanted to write a song that came from a real place. An honest place. Nothing contrived," he said.
On his future plans, Stone noted that he is finishing up a reality show that he is filming in Los Angeles, California. "I have been writing for a lot of other people and I have been producing a new few acts and staying busy. I am out on the road doing my thing," he said.
