Grand Theft Auto 5 is already one of the most popular video games, in video game sales history. Now a new report indicates that the title will soon be moving from consoles to the PC format.
That move should only help fuel sales that have already set several Guinness world records.
GTA 5 has had a couple of hitches in its giddyup since the game was released, including some lost characters and save points with Grand Theft Auto online. Despite those issues, game developer Rockstar seems plenty happy with the game is selling. While it seems like only a natural move to the PC, it bears mentioning that Rockstar has not officially confirmed such a move.
The original report saying that GTA V is headed to the PC actually comes from "reliable industry sources." As reliable as these sources may be, there is always the chance that the rumors are not true ... yet. If they are true, it appears that GTA 5 is going to be hitting personal computers by the first part of next year.
The roadblock to moving this particular title to the PC seems to mostly be the size and scope of the game. It would behoove Rockstar to find a way to port the game anyway, since PC gamers still make up a huge part of the larger gamer community. The new features that this game has would seem to be something that those who are using their laptops or desktops, rather than a console to get their entertainment.
