By Mike White     Oct 9, 2013 in Entertainment
Nashville - The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will open the Taylor Swift Education Center on Saturday, October 12. The museum was originally scheduled to open next year, but the opening date was moved ahead after the star donated $4 million.
Country Weekly reported the museum completed work on the center earlier than expected.
There are three classrooms in the center, a children's exhibit gallery, which will open next year, and a "learning lab." The donation was the largest ever by any artist.
Taylor Swift will be present at the opening of the center. On Sunday she is scheduled to earn, for the sixth time, the songwriter/artist of the year from the Nashville Songwriters Association International.
CBS News noted that the young singer has helped a generation of kids to appreciate country music.
The Huffington Post reported that the 22-year-old singer topped the list of the most charitably-minded stars after her gift to the museum. She also became the youngest person ever to win the Ripple of Hope Award from the Robert F. Kennedy Center for her charitable deeds.
Taylor Swift has had some of the highest success of any country singer this year for her album, Red.
