article imageVideo: Brave cat chases fox off property in Norway

Lillepus, a one-year-old cat living in Florø, western Norway, is now famous for protecting his property from a fox. A passerby caught the incident on camera.
According to Lillepus' owner, Aud Marie Svardal, he's "a bit of a tough guy".
Over the weekend, a fox came onto the property hunting birds, and then the cat too. The brave cat was having none of it and charged at him, eventually chasing the fox off the property in Florø, western Norway.
Robert Endestad and his son Frederick were passing by when they spotted the cat in the typical stalking pose.
Endestad told the local Firde newspaper (in Norwegian), "We stood only three feet from the fox, when Frederick tried to film the episode. The fox tried to sneak up on the cat to take it, but was himself quickly chased into retreat."
"And finally it had to just find new hunting grounds. For here he was the chicken, not the cat," Endestad laughed.
Svardal, the cat's owner, told the Firda, "He's called Lillepus of all things, because he was so small when we got him. We actually had to feed him with a bottle."
"But it is good to see that he protects the birds," she added.
Foxes are in the news a lot lately it seems.
Another story from Norway tells the tale of a song in a viral video that hit the US Billboard Top 10:
