article imageUpdate on Meek Mill and Wale joint mixtape: It was a joke!

By Layne Weiss     Oct 7, 2013 in Entertainment
Philadelphia - Meek Mill has announced that he and fellow MMG rapper, Wale will be dropping a joint mixtape today, Monday, October 7. The two have collaborated on many projects, most recently the Maybach Music Group compilation album, "Self Made Vol. 3."
Just recently, Meek Mill released his mixtape, "Dreamchasers 3."
Late Sunday, he tweeted, "New tape coming tomar Me x Wale #letsgetit." He also included an Instagram picture of the two of them together. He also tweeted another pic of him and Wale along with Dreamchasers Records artist Omelly.
Meek hasn't provided a title for the project, so this whole thing may be a joke or he's just choosing to be a bit more mysterious on details. Time will tell soon enough.
Meanwhile, it's been a busy time for MMG in general. Fellow group member Stalley is on the heels of the release of his newest project, "Honest Cowboy," and as a collective, the group recently released, "Self Made Vol. 3."
Update: It seemed a bit strange that Meek and Wale would be dropping a mixtape today, but nothing was confirmed until now. It was all a joke, HotNewHipHop reports.
Dopecontent took to Twitter to inquire about a release date (even though Meek had said earlier it would be today).
Wale responded saying, "na we was just talkin shyt. I dared him to say it."
