article imageReview: Phoenix Stone Band releases 'When the Whiskey Doesn't Work' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Oct 6, 2013 in Entertainment
Country music group Phoenix Stone Band released their newest radio single "When The Whiskey Doesn't Work" on September 24.
It was written and produced by front-man Phoenix Stone and released via the independent record label, Bodaway Records. The tune is a stirring ballad and quite different than his previous up-tempo, fun single "100 Proof Moonshine." It deals with a failing romance and it has a throwback country vibe to it. They handle this subject matter with much delicacy and optimism. His vocals are slightly reminiscent to those of country mega-star Kenny Chesney, where the listener can recall "Who You'd Be Today."
The Verdict
Phoenix Stone Band's latest single "When The Whiskey Doesn't Work" is one of their best singles to date. It showcases their serious and sophisticated side. Stone displays his wide range and versatility as a country music artist. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars and this song deserves to be played on all radio stations throughout the country.
