reports the four men, whose images were captured on closed-circuit television cameras as they moved about the mall's supermarket and a storage room carrying guns, were of Sudanese, Kenyan and Somali origin. They have been identified as:
Abu Baara al-Sudani- from Sudan; allegedly trained by al-Qaeda and in charge of the group inside the mall. Kenyan military spokesman Maj. Emmanuel Chirchir described him as "an experienced fighter and sharpshooter."
Omar Nabhan- a Kenyan of Arab origin who hails from the port city of Mombassa. Nabhan allegedly traveled to Somalia with his uncle at the age of 16.
Khattab al-Kene- a Somali from the capital Mogadishu who is allegedly linked to the Somali militant Islamist group
Al-Shabaab.
Umayr- this alleged terrorist's full name, nationality and other information have "not yet been identified," Maj. Chirchir said.
At least 67 people were
killed in the Westgate Mall incident, the deadliest terrorist attack in Kenya since the 1998 US Embassy bombing.
