A 24-year-old Arizona woman was killed when she was accidentally shot by her boyfriend's gun while they embraced in a hug.
The incident occurred when the couple were hugging in a house, when the boyfriends gun he was carrying on his waistband had gone off.
The boyfriend, 18, had told the police that he was attempting to remove his gun as it was causing discomfort to his girlfriend, which is when the gun went off, fatally wounding his girlfriend.
According to the spokesman of the Phoenix Police Department, the case would be sent to Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, but said that the shooting was most likely an accident, making it doubtful if any charges will be thrown against the boyfriend.
The latest accident involving guns, is one of many to have taken place in the U.S., with previous cases of children shooting one another by mistake, as well a son shooting and fatally wounding his father by mistake.
