article imageMan makes mistake and texts cop to arrange drug deal

By Owen Weldon     Oct 2, 2013 in Crime
A northwestern New Jersey man made a mistake and sent a text message to a police officer to set up a drug deal, says authorities.
According to Fox, Nicholas Delear Jr. is now being charged with numerous drug offenses.
According to Daily Record, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Friday when police Lt. Eric Danielson got a text message from Delear, 33, according to Sgt. John-Paul Beebe, who said that Dabielson bought himself a new cell phone and was given a new number.
Delear told the officer that he had a quarter pound of pot for sale and that they could meet up at a pizzeria in Sparta to make the exchange. Delear went onto say that he would be arriving in a black 2005 Jeep. That is when an investigation ensued.
According to ABC, Delear met up with an undercover police officer later on, but he took off when he got suspicious. He was soon pulled over, but refused to let cops search his vehicle.
A warrant was obtained, and police searched his vehicle and found drugs in the car. Four plastic bags containing marijuana was found, as well as other paraphernalia.
