article imageVideo: Fox stealing balls at Verbier golf course in Switzerland

Verbier - A crafty fox seems to think he's a dog, and has started stealing golf balls from the Verbier Golf Course, usually just as the player goes to hit them. Rather than upset the players, they find him amusing and he is now a mascot.
The fox has been stealing the golf balls at the golf course in Verbier, an Alpine resort town in the canton of Valais, Switzerland.
Reportedly he pinches the golf balls from the fairway, right under the noses of players, and hides them in the bushes.
Murielle Guex, manager of the Moulins snack bar, across the road from the course, told the 20 Minutes newspaper (in French), “He comes every day, steals the balls and plays with them.”
“He picks up the balls, then immediately runs away,” Guex she said. “He is fantastic and very courageous as he dares to come very close to people,” she added.
Apparently the fox was first seen on the golf course on September 6th and has taken more than 100 balls since.
Guex said that the fox has three different spots to hide the balls, but they are well-hidden.
“We have searched for the balls but we have not found them,” she said.
Apparently golfers are more amused than angry at the loss of their balls. “They often laugh at it and the fox has become a sort of mascot,” Guex said, adding that it is hard to keep up with the animal because he runs too fast.
