The 23-year-old actress and TV host won the search for Miss Philippines-World last August 18 in a ceremony held at the Solaire Resort & Casino in Metro Manila.
Young bested 126 contestants from around the world to win the coveted crown. The top five finalists include contestants from France, Brazil, Ghana, Spain and Philippines with Ms Gibraltar as the people's choice.
Prior to the final judging Saturday night in Bali, Young's photos lifted from a popular magazine where she was photographed in sexy attire, became a trending topic on social media after a British news site published her photos with the story criticizing the beauty queen on moral grounds.
“Rules are rules when it comes to the Miss World beauty contest it seems that contestants’ taking their clothes off is a clear breach of the laws," interaksyon.com
quoted IBC Times UK from article by anonymous user.
It added, "A beauty queen is somebody that is a good role model inside and out and obviously is a beautiful person. It’s not just about exterior beauty; a beauty queen has to have outstanding morals, elegance, femininity and class. And that’s what everybody thinks it is. Beauty queens should be seen as role models not sex object,” the IBCTimes UK quoted an anonymous user who wrote to their news site.
The photos being referred to by the online site which appeared on the March issue of Rouge Magazine, did not carry a fully naked shot on Young as alleged by the anonymous user but the photos looked sexy. Young's photos can be viewed here.
"High Fashion and very artistic and classy. I see nothing wrong with it. I love it." said Al Danan in his comments.
"Nothing wrong with the pictures. It is very nice and artistic," Genevive Cortez, another commenter said.
Young will succeed Miss China, the 2012 Miss World.
In her final statement at the end of the ceremony, the newly-crowned Miss world said she will try to be the best Miss World she can be.
