Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski has confirmed to a German television channel that he will sign a pre-contract agreement with Champions League holders Bayern Munich in January.
Lewandowski's contract with Dortmund expires in the summer, allowing the 25-year old to move for free to their Bundesliga rivals. When asked whether he would be joining Pep Guardiola's men in January by German television channel Sport1, he said: "Yes, because then I can officially sign the contract."
The potential move turned out to be one of the transfer saga's of the summer with Dortmund publicly blocking the move, against the players wishes. Lewandowski claimed Dortmund had broken an agreement to let him leave, before the former Lech Poznan man signed an improved deal that increased his wages but did not extend his existing deal.
Lewandowski will link up with former Dortmund team mate Mario Gotze who made a £31 Million move to treble-winners Bayern in the Summer.
