has been released for the Hong Kong martial arts film called “Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon
." The movie simultaneously airs in Hong Kong and the United States on September 27. This is the sequel
to “Detective Dee: Mystery of the Phantom Flame” which came out in 2010; in the story, Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon acts as a prequel. As a result, veteran actor and Cantopop singer Andy Lau will not be reprising his role as Detective Dee Renjie. Instead, the role will be portrayed by Mark Chao.
In the story, a so-called sea dragon is terrorizing the imperial city. Dee Renjie, who is starting out as a detective, gets appointed the imperial investigator who gets put in charge of the case. While Detective Dee is engaging in intense hand-to-hand combat, he's still a detective that thoroughly investigates his cases. Like in the previous movie, there are supernatural elements; but, Dee gets to the bottom of things and sees things that are not what it seems to be. If you are a fan of the previous movie, you may want to check out this movie when it hits theaters.
