In early September of 2013, Long Island country singer Lisa Matassa released the lyric video for her newest radio single "I Won't Ask."
The country songstress co-penned the new single with her guitarist Colin Smith, as well as Tony Bruno, her producer. The music video made its debut on AOL's country music news website, The Boot.
The majority of the lyric video was filmed in black and white and it has a haunting vibe to it, thus showcasing the power of the tune's lyrics. It is an upbeat and moving song, where Matassa's vocals are reminiscent of those of country singer Jo Dee Messina.
This past year alone has been phenomenal for Matassa: she made her debut at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville at the 2013 CMA Music Festival and she was afforded the privilege to sing the national anthem twice for two Major League Baseball (MLB) teams, which included the Arizona Diamondbacks, as well as the New York Mets at their Citi Field stadium, which is not too far from Long Island, New York.
In addition, Matassa has garnered opening slots for such country artists as Dierks Bentley (for "Freedom Fest" that was held last summer at Farmingville, New York), LeAnn Rimes, Eric Church (at "Vets Rock" that took place two years ago in Farmingville, New York), Ronnie Dunn and Lee Brice.
