She co-wrote all 12 songs on the CD. It opens with the poignant title cut single "Wanted" and it is followed by the optimistic "Our Only Hope" and she soars on the dynamic ballad "Set My People Free."
Equally noteworthy tunes are "Love Is," "Good Enough" and the catchy "Step Into the Light."
Just when you thought that this CD could not get better, the songs on the second half of the album are even more captivating than the first six tracks. The stirring ballad "Blameless" showcases her impressive range and it is one of my two personal favorite tunes on the record, along with the piano-driven ballad "You Are All I Need" which is vocal perfection. Both of these fine tracks would make stellar choices as future radio singles for Maclean.
"Nobody But You" is quite different than the rest of the album and the listener can recall Amy Winehouse's "Tears Dry On Their Own." Being a fan of the late Grammy-winning songstress this ought to be perceived as a huge compliment.
She sings "I Am Blessed" with a lot of grace and soul, which is slightly reminiscent to Adele's "Someone Like You."
It closes with "Made" and the piano-driven ballad "Find Rest," which is a fitting tune to conclude the album, thus leaving her listeners yearning for more.
Contemporary Christian music has found its Adele with Dara Maclean. Her vocals on "Wanted" are crystalline as those of singer-songwriter Tristan Prettyman, coupled with the soulfulness of the late Amy Winehouse. Maclean showcases a great deal of talent both as a vocalist and songwriter. This CD is very uplifting and it deserves well more than just a passing glance. It garners 4.5 out of 5 stars.
