The NFL season is already into the third week and it doesn't look good for fans of NFC East teams.
The
Philadelphia Eagles lost 26 - 16 to their old head coach Andy Reid now the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Eagles fans who were optimistic their new coach Chip Kelly would being some pride back to Philly sports felt very deflated after they watched both the Eagles play a mistake filled game. Can anyone say Groundhog Day?
The
New York
Giants who list their first two games were hoping to get a win this week. They didn't. The Giants looked hapless against the Carolina Panthers loosing 38 - 0. Cam Newton threw three touchdowns and Eli Manning was sacked seven times. The Giants like the Eagles couldn't seem to get out of their own way in a mistake filled loss.
The
Washington Redskins were beaten on Sunday by the Detroit Lions 27 -20. The close score does not reflect the poor play by quarterback RG III and the Washington defense.
The only team in the NFC east with a winning record is the
Dallas Cowboys who beat the St Louis Rams 31- 7. The Cowboys played their best game of the season as they rebounded from a second week loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The NFC East was once a powerhouse in the NFL, with Dallas, New York, and Washington winning more than a few Super Bowls. The Eagles were no slouch either making it to four NFC Championship games and 1 Super Bowl loss in the last ten plus years.
Today the NFC East as well as the whole NFL has been turned into a "level playing field" by the NFL brass in order to insure every team has a chance to win a championship. The question is has this hurt the NFL by creating a diluted product?
