Britney Spears heading to Las Vegas for two-year residency

By Andrew Ellis     Sep 18, 2013 in Entertainment
Las Vegas - Everyone from Celine Dion to Elton John has graced Las Vegas with residencies. Britney Spears is about to join that list.
The Washington Post reports that the pop star, 31, confirmed Tuesday on ABC's "Good Morning America" that she will start a two-year residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on December 27th. The show is titled "Britney Spears: Piece of Me."
During the interview from Las Vegas, she said that she loves it there and there was really good energy. She also mentioned that she was ready, and has been training five hours a day.
The Huffington Post said that she will perform 50 shows in 2014 and 2015.
"I am definitely going to do the greatest hits but I am going to have to put my new material in it to keep fresh," she said.
The speculation started, according to Reuters, after Caesar Entertainment Corps announced in February that it was in talks with Spears about doing a residency at their resort. The company owns Planet Hollywood Resorts & Casinos.
Tickets for "Britney Spears: Piece of Me" will go on sale September 20th. Prices range from $59 to $179, and The Washington Post said that there are various VIP packages available.
Britney Spears has seven albums that have earned at least platinum status, and her hits include "...Baby One More Time," "Oops!...I Did It Again," and "Till The World Ends."
She just released a new single called "Work B**ch," from her as yet untitled new album which is due out December 3rd.
