article imageReview: Country singer Shanna Henderson releases new single 'A Well' Special

By Markos Papadatos     Sep 17, 2013 in Entertainment
Country music songstress Shanna Henderson released her newest single "A Well" on all digital outlets this week. She appeared on the Oxygen series "The Glee Project 2," which is the reality companion to the television series "Glee."
She impressed the judges with her bold version of Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats."
Growing up in Reeltown, Alabama, Henderson was raised by grandparents, Ann and Roger. She was an honor student, award-winning swimmer and she excelled in extracurricular activates, including vocals at a young age. Her grandparents encouraged her to stay busy with her studies and to sing. She was inspired primarily by Reba McEntire.
The Verdict
Her vocals on her new single "A Well" are crisp yet haunting and reminiscent to those of Carrie Underwood and the listener can easily recall The Civil Wars ("Safe and Sound"). Shanna Henderson is an artist whose music deserves more than just a passing glance. Her vocals are a breath of fresh air compared to most songs played on contemporary country radio, most of which are more pop than country.
