Milan - AC Milan midfielder Kaka has requested he not be paid while he recovers from a thigh injury he suffered in his first game since returning to the team from Real Madrid.
Earlier this month, the 31-year-old Brazilian national returned to AC MIlan from Real Madrid.
"I don't want anything from Milan except for love and support until I'm fully fit and ready to play," he said in a statement according to BBC Sport. "For this reason, I have decided to suspend my current pay for this period of time. The only thing I ask for is the support and help to recovery properly."
Kaka said that he spoke "at length" to AC Milan President Adriano Galliani before making this decision, but it remains unclear whether the team has decided to grant the player;s request or accept his offer, depending on how one looks at it.
"I have already started my rehabilitation and I have to say your support and everything I have heard in the last couple of days really drives me on and makes me determined to come back as soon as possible," The Daily Mail reports.
Kaka had just made his return to AC Milan after four years with Real Madrid.
He was FIFA's 2007 Word Player of The Year.
