Casey Anthony to be questioned in defamation lawsuit in October

By Andrew Ellis     Sep 16, 2013 in Crime
Orlando - Attorney Matt Morgan said he will question Casey Anthony out of court on October 9th about the disappearance of her daughter in 2008. This questioning will be part of a defamation lawsuit that was filed by Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez.
According to HLN, Matt Morgan has said he will question Anthony on why she tried to hide the fact that her daughter went missing in July of 2008. Morgan is the attorney representing Fernandez-Gonzalez in the lawsuit.
The lawsuit in question, as reported by the Orlando Sentinel, claims that Anthony defamed Gonzalez when she told investigators in 2008 that her daughter Caylee was kidnapped by a babysitter by the name of Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez. Investigators then discovered that such a babysitter did not exist. Gonzales says, according to HLN, that after Anthony revealed the name of the babysitter she was "harassed and threatened by the community."
The Orlando Sentinel also reported that Morgan said in a statement that Anthony will not be able to plead the 5th:
"Casey Anthony will not be permitted to plead the Fifth as her appeals have now been resolved. We look forward to getting answers to the questions we have had for a very long time."
The Huffington Post reported that Anthony's attorney was out of state, and could not be reached.
Casey Anthony was found not guilty of her murdering her daughter Caylee in 2011.
