Green Bay - Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers showed why he is one of the elite players in the NFL as he tossed four touchdowns to lead the Packers to a 38-20 victory over Washington at home on Sunday.
Rodgers had a big afternoon, completing 34 of 42 passes for 480 yards as he led the offense to over 600 total yards, but it wasn't all good news as starting running back Eddy Lacy was injured early in the game with a concussion and didn't return.
James Starks filled in brilliantly for the rookie, rushing for 132 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown. Wide receiver James Jones had a big game with 11 catches for 178 yards and Kevin Cobb added nine more receptions for 128 yards and a score.
Washington fell behind early and struggled until the fourth quarter when they scores two touchdowns. Quarterback Robert Griffin was 26 of 40 for 320 yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn't enough and the Redskins dropped to 0-2 on the year.
The victory by Green Bay improved their record to 1-1, but they have a tough task next week when they travel to Cincinnati to face the Bengals. Washington will look for their first win on the NFL season at home against the Detroit Lions.
