Fuengirola - The extreme heat of summer has gone, along with most of the tourists. However, it is still hot and sunny out there, ideal for a quiet stroll down to the beachfront.
While still rather humid and hot in the sun, there is a cool breeze coming up from the beachfront, making for ideal conditions for a quiet and restful Sunday stroll.
In Fuengirola, the side streets leading down to the beach are all narrow, and some are pedestrian only.
The streets are lined with small shops, cafes and bars all the way down to the beach. Some of the original houses, back from Fuengirola's fishing village days, still exist today:

Another recent addition, a little further down the street, is El Rastro, a Madrid-themed bar that is becoming popular with the locals.
The bar sells a range of tasty meals and tapas in an authentic "Madrileñian" environment with attractive pictures on the walls, mismatched bar stools and a metro sign in the window along with a tasty leg of the best local jamon (ham).
