Betty White has a major accomplishment to be proud of. The 91-year old veteran actress and comedienne was recently recognized by the 2014 Guinness Book of World Records.
The Guinness World Records paid homage to the iconic actress for having the longest television career for a female entertainer in the industry. Her illustrious career has spanned 74 years and she has starred in such acclaimed television shows as “The Golden Girls,” “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” “Mama’s Family, “The Carol Burnett Show,” among countless others.
In 2010, White was the oldest person to host “Saturday Night Live,” which received rave reviews.
She has also won six Emmy awards and the 2011 Grammy award for “Best Spoken Word Recording,” thus becoming the oldest person to win this competitive award.
According to an article in Rolling Stone Magazine, other entertainers that also honored by the Guinness Book of World Records include Justin Bieber for being the youngest solo artist to have five chart-topping albums in America, pop star Rihanna for having the most fans on Facebook, pop boy band One Direction for having the most Twitter followers by a group and Taylor Swift for her record-breaking album sales.
We would like to congratulate Betty White on this prestigious achievement. Hopefully, there will be many more to come.
