article imageJ.J. Abrams to release novel with Doug Dorst

By Andrew Ellis     Sep 10, 2013 in Entertainment
If you're a huge fan of J.J. Abrams' work, then hopefully you're ready to lose yourself in a book. Yes, you read that correctly.
According to NextMovie, the mystery behind the “The Stranger” trailer that hinted at a new J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot project was revealed to be a book conceived by Abrams and award-winning author Doug Dorst.
For the actual reveal of the project, another trailer (see video above) was released that included a voice over from an older-sounding man, a guy with his lips sown shut, a typewriter, and cops. The end of the trailer brought us the image of a hardcover book with the names of the authors, J.J. Abrams and Doug Dorst, and a website, soonyouwillknow.com.
The novel, which is called S. right now, was created by Abrams and was written by Dorst, according to The Huffington Post.
The publisher, Mulholland Books, had this to say in a statement:
"At the core of this multilayered literary puzzle of love and adventure is a book of mysterious provenance. In the margins, another tale unfolds—through the hand-scribbled notes, questions, and confrontations of two readers. Between the pages, online, and in the real world, you’ll find evidence of their interaction, ephemera that bring this tale vividly to life."
The book goes on sale October 29th. It can be pre-ordered through its website.
